About

Passion. Experience. Diligence.

Background

I have been in private practice as a licensed psychologist in the state of Minnesota since 2001 (Minnesota Psychology License #LP4307). I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1993. I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University in 1999. After finishing a pre-doctoral internship in clinical health psychology at the University of Florida Health Science Center in 1999, I returned to Ohio State to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiopulmonary behavioral medicine in 2001.  My research while in graduate school focused on psychosocial risk factors in cardiovascular disease. I am also the co-author of the chapter, “Behavioral Medicine and Heart Disease,” in the Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine-2nd Edition.

I have extensive clinical experience providing psychological assessment and treatment of adults with obesity, and cardiac and pulmonary diseases, as well as consultation to physicians and other health care professionals regarding psychological factors involved in these medical conditions.  I also conducted Compensation and Pension disability examinations of military service members for the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for over ten years, and have extensive experience in the assessment of PTSD and other mental health conditions.
